To już miesiąc, odkąd wojskowy szpital polowy w Nysie rozpoczął udzielanie świadczeń medycznych mieszkańcom powiatów nyskiego, prudnickiego i brzeskiego. Dotychczas pomoc otrzymało ponad 1000 pacjentów. W pierwszych dniach funkcjonowania szpital przyjmował średnio 100 chorych na dobę.
19 września br., na podstawie decyzji Ministra Obrony Narodowej, w ramach trwającej operacji wojskowej "Feniks", Dowódca Generalny Rodzajów Sił Zbrojnych RP, utworzył w Nysie wojskowy szpital polowy. W jego organizację zaangażowane zostały siły 2 Wojskowego Szpitala Polowego z Wrocławia oraz 25 Brygady Kawalerii Powietrznej z Tomaszowa Mazowieckiego.
Działanie Sił Zbrojnych RP było odpowiedzią na zniszczenia wywołane sytuacją powodziową w regionie, która doprowadziła do zalania i wyłączenia z działalności Szpitala Powiatowego w Nysie. W rezultacie tych wydarzeń 45-tysięczne miasto oraz okoliczne miejscowości zostały pozbawione całodobowego dostępu do opieki zdrowotnej.
Szpital polowy w Nysie od pierwszych dni świadczy całodobową pomoc medyczną stając się częścią systemu ochrony zdrowia. Jego zakresem działania jest w szczególności pomoc pacjentom w stanie nagłego zagrożenia życia i zdrowia, pomoc internistyczno - chirurgiczna oraz udzielana do 18 października br, przy wsparciu personelu medycznego ze Szpitala Powiatowego w Nysie, pomoc pediatryczna.
W placówce wykonywane są drobne zabiegi chirurgiczne, szczepienia interwencyjne, wstępne zaopatrzenia pacjentów, stabilizacje parametrów życiowym i w sytuacjach tego wymagających przeprowadzanie ewakuacji medycznej do placówek medycznych o wyższym stopniu referencyjności.
W trakcie miesiąca funkcjonowania w szpitalu przyjęto ponad 1000 pacjentów w wieku od 3 miesięcy do 100 lat.
Wojskowy szpital polowy będzie świadczył pomoc medyczną do czasu przywrócenia pełnej funkcjonalności Szpitala Powiatowego w Nysie, który od 18 października br. stopniowo wznawia swoją działalność.
